Reduces the time Windows waits before shutting down a program when a user logs off or shuts down windows. Default is 20 seconds or 20000 milliseconds. Try 3000, makes for a really fast shutdown !
How To Make Windows Shutdown Faster (Back)
This tweak requires the modification of two registry keys.
Keys to modify with their default values:
Location in registry - [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
Key Name		Value
WaitToKillAppTimeout =  20000
Location in registry - [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
Key Name		Value
WaitToKillAppTimeout =  20000
 

 

Set the value to 1 to Force all user processes to end automatically when
the user logs off or shuts down Windows

How To Force User Processes to End Automatically  (Back)

This tweak requires the modification of two registry keys.
Keys to modify with their default values:

Location in registry - [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
Key Name                Value
AutoEndTasks       =                     0
Location in registry - [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
Key Name                Value
AutoEndTasks       =                     0

 

 

Set value to 1, then when Windows shuts down or reboots, windows will clear the paging/swap file. Clearing the pagefile may take time. This will depend on your system.

How To Clear Pagefile On Shutdown  (Back)

This tweak requires the modification of one registry key.
Key to modify with their default values:

Location in registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
Key Name                    Value
ClearPageFileAtShutdown =  00000000

Caution This Tweak could slow down system performance during shutdown or reboot.

 

 

     

When You Are Going To Delete A Registry Key
First Do A Registry Backup

The following Performance Tweaks involve deleting registry keys.

 

Speed up Microsoft Network Browsing by deleting key that causes the scheduled task folder to be search every time you browser the network. Navigate to the following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace

Delete the key
